BUSY MONDAY FOR FOREIGN MINISTER TANGARA

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Dr Mamadou Tangara on Monday 3rd December 2018 has had a flurry of engagements at his office in Banjul.

First to call on the Honourable Minister was a delegation from the Youth Empowerment Project, YEP, who briefed the Minister on the background and the activities of YEP, ranging from skills development of young people, job creation to increasing the employability of migrant returnees. The Honourable Minister thanked the team and assured them of government’s full support. The team comprised Raimund Moser, Project Manager, Youth Empowerment Project and Fatou Mbenga Jallow, Project Coordinator & Senior Technical Adviser, Youth Empowerment Project.

Next activity was the official presentation of the Defense Attaché of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire to the Embassy in Dakar, Senegal, accredited to The Gambia, Colonel Kouakoumin Amangoua.

The Defense Attaché was presented to the Honourable Minister by the Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Dakar and Marcellin Flan, Deputy Consul, Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in The Gambia. Dr Tangara welcomed Colonel Amangoua to the Smiling Coast.

A team from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation also called on the Honourable Minister. The delegation comprised the Swiss Ambassador to Dakar accredited to The Gambia, H.E Marion Weichelt Krupski, Vice-Director General Pio Wennubst and Isabella Pagotto, Senior Policy Advisor, both from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. Discussions centred on deepening cooperation in various areas, especially water management and the importance of Diaspora in national development.
